This compilation was released by the
US-American label The Ajna Offensive in late September 2002. It features
40 different artist on 4 CDs in a 96 pages hardbound full colour book.
Besides Apoptose there are bands like Allerseelen, Hekate, Amber Asylum,
Alraune, Waldteufel, In Gowan Ring, Alio Die, Troum, Inade, Ah Cama-Sotz,
Aube an many, many more on this compilation.
But this compilation is not only
worth it because of those many wellknown bands that take part. That what
makes it so unique is the concept. Each artist was asked to record a track
that is dedicated to a certain plant. Additionaly everyone should create a special artwork
consisting of two pages: One should represent that particular plant (much in a way of old herbal
codices) and the other should present the band. So Infernal Proteus is not only a compilation of sounds but also
a gathering of artistic skills in the graphic genre.
Apoptose contributed the exclusive
track "Eichensiechtum", which is dedicated to a special oak tree.
