NORDLAND is the first musical work of Apoptose that is available to the public. This album is inspired by the atmosphere of the north although NORDLAND should not be regarded simply as a geographic term. It is more a synonym for the dark side of nature that has an inevitable influence on our life. The difficult living conditions in the north like arctic temperatures, wilderness, loneliness and darkness lasting for months are not really "good" or "bad" but they have always forced people to face life in a very attentive way. Therefore the darker sounds dominate the spectrum of NORDLAND that ranges from ambient to orchestral passages.

The occult beauty of the melodies intensifies the solemn impression that is evoked by the experimental basis of all tracks. Like ancient stone circles on barren landscapes the melodies shape the face of the whole album. These seven pieces awaken an archaic region that exists below the surface of mind where the eternal cycle of life and death still regulates the course of things. Whoever is willing to immerse her-/himself in this music is encouraged to look for inherent fragments of the own subconscious. The album may be a device to find and enter your personal NORDLAND.
