APOPTOSE

live at INTERMEDIALE Legnica, 2011

On November 26, 2011, Apoptose played live at the INTERMEDIALE Festival of Audiovisual Forms in Legnica, Poland. Although this festival took place several times, it is still an insiders' tip for people who love dark ambient and experimental audio and video art.

The names in the lineup in Legnica may be not as "big" as the bands that usually play at the nearby Wroclaw Industrial Festival, but they are special none the less. The festival weekend in Legnica is definitely worth a trip!
So watch out for the next edition in autumn! But first of all here are some personal impressions and fotos of Apoptose's trip to Legnica in 2011.

The Modjeska Theatre is a huge old building right in the city center of Legnica (or Liegnitz as it was called in former days). See some more old and new pictures here:

The venue reminded me of the Festival Musique Ultimes in Nevers, France. This event took place 3 or 4 times in the 1990s in the cosy Theatre Municipal in Nevers. The atmosphere inside was quite similar to the ambience in Legnica's theatre.

And most important for both audience and musicians: the Modjeska Theatre offers good sound and the biggest video screen that I've ever seen at an industrial/ambient event. Perfect conditions!

Also on stage that night in 2011: Asbaar from Spain (left), Nonstate (right) and Inire (both from Poland).

You find more info on the Intermediale Festival on their facebook page, too.

special atmosphere inside the theatre: many rooms, hidden spaces, stairs, corners ... and maybe some ghosts... ;-)

On the day after the concert, a Sunday morning, I walked around the nearly empty city center. The only people around were rushing to the churches or walking their dogs. Quiet moments to take some colourful photographic souvenirs with my crappy camera.
